Ortho's Bestfriend: Third day

I am slightly used with this expander when brushing my teeth. But still, Im not used of having LISP! And I can hardly eat my favorite foods: spaghetti, burger, fries, egg and all those fatty foods i love!

Next week, Im scheduled to go to my ortho to tighten up my expander and she'll teach me on how to tighten it up by myself for the next days, using the "key".

I'll be back next week after the tightening of the expander. Next week, classes will resume so maybe, I am going to post only once/twice a week :( I'll be as busy as a hardworking Carabao!!!

It hurts everytime I take it off to brush my teeth but its bearable though.

I cant take a picture of my exact expander because its actually on the palate (at the top).

My ortho said Im gonna wear this expander for only 2 months, but I guess Im gonna wear it for 1 semester in college :-/

This is a palatal expander, but mine look different.

This is how it actually look in mine but I got extra wires on my front teeth.

Today was the day when my orthodontist placed a "palate expander" on my upper teeth and a retainer/spacer on my lower teeth. I tell you guys, this is not a JOKE! Its like I am wearing for only 7hours and when I got it off to brush my teeth, it hurts, A LOT! Oh my gosh, I can imagine my teeth is moving as well as my jaw bones.

Wait, I'll explain what does a palate expander does to your teeth:

Most people have never seen or heard of a palate expander, or appliance, as it commonly called by many orthodontists and dentists. A palate expander is an orthodontic device used by orthodontists to permanently expand a young patient's jaw to correct an under bite usually before the patient is fitted for braces.

Palate expanders can be painful as the patient is manually expanding his own jaw.

I need this expander so that I can get the brackets that I actually wanted! (cant wait for it). Its really painful right now but I can stand it though.
